Přeceňovaná ztráta času

Mistr a Markétka je pravděpodobně kniha, o které se mnohem více hovoří než se ji čte. Považuje se totiž obecně za klasiku a nejúspěšnější dílo autora, ale je skutečnou otázkou, kde takový dojem vznikl. Děj knihy je vyšinutý a zbytečně spletitý, v podstatě se neubírá vůbec nikam a čtenář má tak pocit, že jen ztrácí čas, protože se nic nedozvěděl. Hlavní děj o rozsahu menšího časopisu je uměle rozšiřovaný nad 400 stran a často i nelogicky. Když se nějaká zápletka, která svou vážností ani nestojí za řeč, nějak rozplete, vzápětí autor vše zase pokračováním přetvoří, aby se rozpletla jinak. Tím čtenář předchozí stránky ani nemusel číst a trpí tak v nekonečném labyrintu, který nikam nevede, protože i závěr knihy je velmi neuspokojivý. Snad má kniha čtenáře bavit jako komedie, bohužel však "žerty" v knize nejsou vůbec vtipné.
